What we get up to
Planters, blossom, bulbs and a lot of tidying. Here's what the town has been doing since 2011.

High Street planters
We build, stain and paint the planters along the High Street, then keep them full of flowers. Local businesses sponsor them, and each one carries its sponsor's plaque. The newest timber planters went in with extra seating, and more are heading for Kirk Square.

Cherry blossom avenue
A piper led the tree planting on the brae to Gunsgreen House. Anyone can dedicate a tree to a birth, a wedding, an anniversary or a memory. We order the tree, plant it and add a plaque.

Toon Tidies and litter picks
Tidy-ups, litter picks and beach cleans, with something for all abilities. We bring the litter pickers. In September the town turned a day's job into a morning's work: benches pressure-washed, planters filled and the square swept.

Daffodils, wildflowers and wildlife
Daffodils along the road verges, planted with the high school and paid for by a door-to-door bulb fund. Native wildflower seed on the historically messy corners. A bug hotel, bird-feeding stations and young trees.

Schools and youth groups
Eyemouth High School's horticulture class pots on, grows plants and plants daffodils with us. Beavers, Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, the swimming club and other youth groups all pitch in. We call them the town's secret army of gardening gnomes.
