Privacy policy
What we collect through this website, why, who sees it, and how to ask us about it. We keep it to what we need.
Who we are
Eyemouth Enhancement Group is a group of volunteers who look after planters, benches, bulbs and trees around Eyemouth. When this page says “we”, it means the group.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email, phone number if you give it, what your message is about, and your message.
- Get involved form: your name, email, phone number if you give it, what you would like to help with, and anything else you tell us.
- Donate form: your name, email, what your gift is for and how much, and any words you want on a sign, plaque or tree.
Each form also saves your IP address and the type of browser you used, which helps us spot spam. Everything you send is stored in this website’s database.
When you give, you pay on a secure page run by Stripe. We never see your card details: Stripe tells us the payment went through and who paid, and keeps its own record of it.
A monthly gift carries on until you ask us to stop. Get in touch through our Contact page and we’ll cancel it.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your message.
- To let you know about volunteer days, if you asked us to.
- To take your gift, send your receipt, and agree the wording for a sign, plaque or tree.
- To keep a record of the money we receive.
We do not sell your details or use them for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who sees it
- The volunteers in the group who answer messages and look after gifts.
- The person who builds and looks after this website, to keep it running. Until the group has its own email address set up, messages from the forms go to them first.
- Stripe, who process payments. Read Stripe’s privacy policy.
- The companies that host this website and carry our email, only as part of running them.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as we need them to reply and to organise things with you. We keep gift records for as long as we need them for our accounts. We delete them when we no longer need them.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies on its payment page, and while we hand you over to it, to help stop fraud. Volunteers who log in to edit the site get the cookies WordPress needs for that.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch through our Contact page.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
